Is it possible to wash New Tyvek® suits, Recycled Tyvek® or MaxShield garments?
Our garments are inexpensive and designed to be disposed of, thus DuPont does not recommend washing.
What is Tyvek® made of?
Tyvek® is a flashspun high-density polyethylene fiber. It is non-woven consisting of spunbond olefin fiber.
What applications can PPE be used in?
Fiberglass manufacturing, tank cleaning, construction, agricultural, painting, asbestos removal, pest control, mold and lead remediation are just a few.
Why buy MaxShield over the name brand?
The less expensive alternative. Provides and aerosol and liquid proof barrier. Lightweight and strong protection at a great price.
Are New Tyvek®, Recycled Tyvek® or MaxShield garments anti-static or static dissipative?
Yes. New Tyvek® is anti-static. No. Recycled Tyvek® or MaxShield are not anti-static treated.
Is Tyvek® breathable?
Yes. Tyvek® brand allows sweat, moisture and heat to pass thru the material while still keeping moisture out.
How can I dispose of Recycled Tyvek® or MaxShield?
The recommended method of disposal is burial in a landfill in accordance with applicable local, state, national, EC and/or federal regulations.
Are Recycled Tyvek® or MaxShield garments flame resistant or flame retardant?
No, Tyvek® garments are not flame resistant or flame retardant and should not be used around heat, flame, sparks or potentially flammable environments.
Can Recycled Tyvek® or MaxShield garments be used for welding applications?
No, Tyvek® garments should not be used for welding applications. Tyvek® garments are not flame resistant or flame retardant and should not be used around heat, flame, sparks or potentially flammable environments.
How much chemical protection will Recycled Tyvek® or MaxShield garments provide?
Tyvek® garments are acceptable for situations involving dry hazardous particles and aerosols.
Can Tyvek®, Recycled Tyvek® or MaxShield garments be used in clean rooms?
Yes, New Tyvek® may be used in clean rooms. MaxShield can be sold into clean rooms depending on class. The recycled line cannot be sold in clean rooms.
Will Recycled Tyvek® or MaxShield garments discolor in storage or before use?
Recycled Tyvek® or MaxShield garments may turn yellow after long-term exposure to oxidizing gases, such as nitrous oxide and exhaust from internal combustion engines.
What is the shelf life of Recycled Tyvek® or MaxShield garments?
Tyvek® garments have a shelf life of at least 5 years based on hyperbaric oxidative degradation studies. High temperature, oxidizing gases, wet, cold, ultraviolet and ionizing radiation will significantly impact the long-term life of garments made of Tyvek
How fluid repellent are Tyvek® garments?
Tyvek® garment material will resist water penetration up to 1.5 psi and liquid penetration by blood at a similar level. Low surface tension liquids will penetrate at lower pressures.
Are Recycled Tyvek® or MaxShield garments available in other colors?
Recycled Tyvek® or MaxShield garments are available only in white.
How long can recycled Tyvek® or MaxShield garments be used before discarding?
All recycle Tyvek® or MaxShield garments are designed for limited-use; the actual use time will vary depending on work conditions and hazards present.
Can Recycled Tyvek® or MaxShield garments be used for paint spraying applications?
Yes, shows that Tyvek® can be used with. If conditions during the spray operations do result in excessive wetting of the garment, then breathable film products, such as NexGen or monolithic film products such Tychem QC or CPF 1 should be considered.

Miller’s Precision Enterprises, Inc. pricing structure is set up on a Tier basis. The more cases that are purchased at a time the more cost effective the purchase cost is.
